Toddlers

This is the time when a child learns to explore their world, draw conclusions from these explorations and learn new problem-solving skills. It is during this critical period of development that language, social-emotional skills and mobility increases rapidly. Our curriculum will have child-centered activities in the following areas: art, brain builders, fine and gross motor skills, language and communication, music and movement, early literacy, outdoor explorations, sensory explorations and social-emotional development.

Our curriculum has the following components:

–          Predictable but flexible routines.

–          An understanding that the needs of children outweigh the need to have a fixed routine.

–          Activities that are both developmentally and culturally appropriate.

–          Blocks of time devoted to play and multisensory exploration.

–          A balance of indoor and outdoor activities as well as quiet and noisy activities.

–          Small group as well as individual activities.
